Old Farms at Cabin Point

Add to plan Remove from plan

A "must-stop" shop for both locals and visitors to Surry County where you will find seasonal plants and produce, floral arrangements and wreaths, peanuts, birdfeed, deer and wildlife feed, vintage and estate items, jewelry and gifts, drinks and snack items - including freeze-dried candy - baked goods, and Creekside Smokehouse products.

While the current shop is owned and operated by Anna Padgett of Trueheart Farm, it has a history going back generations. The location of Old Farms at Cabin Point is owned by Anna and her husband, Jay. It was inherited from Jay's grandfather, H. B. "Brother" Holdsworth, who owned it and operated Holdsworth's Garage in the space. He ran a pulpwood business and chainsaw repair shop in the building where many locals were employed for years. Mr. Holdsworth also bought Trueheart Farm in 1945 at the age of 18. Trueheart Farm produces row crops, has a large garden, and raises laying hens and pullets to be processed for food.
